XAUUSD Gold price is moving in an Ascending channel and the market has rebounded from the higher low area of the channel.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday urged the UK government to send fighter jets to Ukraine. In a surprise visit to the UK on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. During his address to the British parliament, he thanked the UK, saying: “London has stood with Kyiv since day one and from the first seconds and minutes of the war.” The Ukrainian president is also expected to visit Ukrainian troops that are training in the country. King Charles will hold an audience with Zelenskyy as well.
USDJPY Analysis
USDJPY is moving in an Ascending channel and the market has fallen from the higher high area of the channel.
Japan said Thursday it was coordinating with Washington as it analyzed unidentified aerial objects spotted over the country in past years after US forces shot down an alleged Chinese surveillance balloon. Authorities said then that they were baffled by the object, which appeared to be composed of a balloon attached to crossed sticks with propellers in close-up images by residents and media. Japan’s meteorological agency said at the time that the balloon looked like a weather-monitoring device but did not belong to them.
USDCAD Analysis
USDCAD is moving in the Descending channel and the market has fallen from the lower high area of the channel.
The Canadian government has pledged nearly C$200bn ($149bn; £124bn) in funding over 10 years to aid the country’s ailing healthcare system. The funding was pitched as a generational fix for the system in an announcement on Tuesday. A few reports have since emerged of patients dying while awaiting treatment. Canada’s healthcare system is funded by the taxpayer to offer free, universal access to necessary hospital and doctor visits for all citizens and permanent residents.
USDCHF Analysis

EURNZD Analysis

A New Zealand pilot has been taken hostage by separatist fighters in Indonesia’s Papua region. Philip Mehrtens was taken after his plane carrying five passengers was attacked after it landed in the remote mountainous province of Nduga. The five passengers who were also onboard had been released because they were native Papuans. Indonesian authorities say they are deploying a search and rescue team. But police noted it was logistically difficult because the remote area can only be reached by air.
GBPCHF Analysis
GBPCHF is moving in the Descending triangle pattern and the market has rebounded from the horizontal support area of the pattern.
Due to capacity constraints, Switzerland could not send a rescue team to Syria, as it had already sent one to Turkey. Still, it will send experts this week to assess the country’s humanitarian needs. Earlier in the day, the Swiss foreign ministry issued a statement saying that a team of experts would be sent to Syria at the end of the week to assess humanitarian needs. Turkey and Syria were rattled on Monday by at least three major earthquakes and dozens of aftershocks that killed more than 10,000 people and collapsed thousands of homes.
GBPNZD Analysis

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said nothing is off the table after Volodymyr Zelensky urged the UK to supply Ukraine with fighter jets. Ukraine’s president, who was visiting the UK for the first time since Russia’s invasion, expressed gratitude for the equipment received so far. But he warned that supplies were running out and that this could result in stagnation in the conflict. During his speech, the Ukrainian leader presented House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle with the helmet of a Ukrainian pilot.
Crude Oil Analysis
Crude Oil has broken the Descending channel in Upside.
Australia’s Department of Defense will strip its buildings of Chinese-made security cameras to ensure they are “completely secure,” the government says. The decision to remove the camera equipment follows similar decisions in the United States and the United Kingdom, which have also taken measures to ban Chinese-made cameras at sensitive sites fearing Chinese companies could be forced to share intelligence with Beijing’s security services. An audit found that at least 913 Chinese-made cameras had been installed across more than 250 Australian government buildings.
AUDUSD Analysis
AUDUSD has broken the Ascending channel in Downside.
Australia’s central bank raised its cash rate by 25 basis points to a decade-high of 3.35% on Tuesday and reiterated that further increases would be needed in a more hawkish policy tilt than many had expected. Markets were surprised by the hawkish tone of the RBA which shattered any expectations of an imminent pause to the tightening campaign. The futures market has priced at a peak rate of 3.9%, implying at least two more rate hikes in March and April, compared with 3.75% before the decision.
NZDUSD Analysis

New Zealand’s prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, has said she is resigning in an unexpected announcement that came as she confirmed a national election for October. Her term as prime minister will conclude no later than 7 February, but she will continue as an MP until the election this year. Who will replace Ardern is not yet clear. The deputy leader and finance minister, Grant Robertson, who would be considered a frontrunner, said that he would not be seeking the position himself but is excited to know who it may be.
